Collagen Induction Therapy is an exciting technology that is scientifically proven to induce collagen formation.
It uses vibrational vertical penetration to create infusion channels into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is then infused for deep hydration and collagen formation is activated. This promotes tissue stimulation and skin rejuvenation that continues for months after the initial treatment.
Since there is no heat or ablative energy (laser), the treatment can be used on any skin colour and skin type. Collagen will grow from around 6 weeks afterwards, and continue to improve over 6 months. New blood vessels are also formed and this gives the skin new sources of nourishment. Both the dermis and epidermis becomes thickened. The result is improved skin texture and reduction in wrinkles.
This treatment is beneficial for: tissue regeneration; skin rejuvenation; collagen induction; scar reduction; fine lines & wrinkles; pore size reduction; and acne scarring. Multiple treatments may be required depending on the skin condition, 6-8 weeks.

What are the benefits?
This treatment stimulates the skin to produce collagen as well as reduce scarring. It improves the thickness of the dermis and epidermis. This helps to improve skin texture and reduce fine lines. Over time, blood vessels are also stimulated to generate and this helps to improve the availability of nutrients to the skin. This has a positive effect on pigmentation, acne scars, wrinkles, and pore size.
Who is it suitable for? How safe is it?
The treatment is safe for all skin types. Unlike heat based technology, there is no skin burning or coagulation. Hence the side-effects are dramatically reduced and the risk is minimal. You may experience some redness of the skin for a few days after treatment, similar to a sunburn.
What is the procedure?
The basis of treatment is micro-needling (also known as skin-needling). Our treatment protocol is designed to give you results by combining the best of different modalities.
The face is first cleaned and exfoliated using our HydraFacial. The skin is then numbed with anaesthetic cream. Our microneedling device is then used to create fine micro-channels in the skin. This induces growth factors to begin to work. These micro-channels are then utilized to infuse active ingredients to work deep within the skin. We then target your specific skin concerns by infusion of customised serums into your skin. This includes: pigments, fine lines, sun-damage, and skin tightening serums. We can even infuse your own platelets or concentrated growth factors (CGF) – otherwise known as a stem cell facial.
Are all micro-needling devices the same?
No. Micro-needling devices can be classified into: 1) home grade, 2) beautician grade, and 3) medical grade. Our micro-needling treatment is TGA approved medical grade.
Micro-needling (or skin-needling) is only a small component of the overall Collagen Induction Therapy. Collagen induction relies on stimulation of your body’s healing potential beyond the wound that it causes. It also requires rapid change in cellular polarity. This is influenced by: the direction of the micro-needles (rolling vs vertical), the speed it moves at, depth of penetration, shape of the micro-needles, and conductivity of the micro-needles.
How many treatments are needed?
The amount of treatment needed depends on your initial skin condition. Most people require 3 to 6 treatments done at 4 week intervals. As the treatment stimulates new collagen growth, results are noticeable around the 6 week mark. Improvements from a single treatment usually continues for 6 months.
