Wrinkle relaxers are an effective way to smooth off those lines on your face. We soften your lines whilst still maintaining your expression so you look refreshed and not frozen.
Wrinkle relaxers are muscle relaxants used to treat dynamic wrinkles and lines of the face. They soften the lines caused by over-active muscles.
Over-active muscles that cause damage to the skin. This then relaxes the wrinkles of the face and also allows the skin to repair over time. Wrinkle relaxers may also be used to prevent wrinkles from appearing.
They are a safe, non-surgical treatment that gives very predictable results when performed by an experienced clinician in a regulated, clinical environment. Patients having this treatment look refreshed and radiant – the results are so natural friends and family often won’t know.
What are the benefits?
There are two main reasons for wrinkles to develop: 1) damage to the skin and 2) lack of your skin’s ability to repair that damage. Over-active facial muscles continuously fold and crease the skin causing lines and wrinkles to form faster than your skin can repair them. Wrinkle relaxers reduce the activity of these muscles to allow your skin more time to repair. To goal of treatment is to allow your skin to regenerate. To restore health, not to freeze your face. Wrinkle relaxers can also be used to change resting muscle tone to improve the dynamics of your smile. Areas that may be treated include: Frown lines, Forehead lines, Crow’s feet, Gummy smile, Smile lift, and Square jaw reduction.
Who is suitable for treatment?
Anti-wrinkle injections can be performed on anyone with wrinkles forming as a result of muscle movement. It can be used to treat existing wrinkles or used preventatively to prevent fine lines from becoming permanent wrinkles. We generally recommend treatment when there are lines visible when the face is at rest. Typically this occurs from the age of 25 onwards.
What is the procedure?
The treatment involves an assessment of your face and smile dynamics. This is so that we know your facial dynamics will be improved from the treatment. A series of injections into the target areas delivers the wrinkle relaxers. The procedure typically takes from 20 to 30 minutes. There is no downtime from the treatment. The wrinkle relaxers typically start working 3-4 days after treatment and results are noticeable 2 weeks afterwards.
How many treatments do I need?
The muscle relaxing effect of wrinkle relaxers typically last for 3 months. Your skin is generally undergoing repair during this time. How often the treatment needs to be repeated depends on the severity of the existing lines and wrinkles, and your skin’s regenerative potential. To get the most out of your treatments, wrinkle relaxers are best used in combination with other skin treatments. As the health of your skin is restored, less treatment is generally needed.

My pregnancy skin had been looking really dry and crap so this was a really nice treat - it's an Iconic Medispa Hydrafacial. You know those facials where they just rub a whole bunch of oils on your face but then it's over and you're like, "Oh ok but what about all my blackheads?" This is NOT one of those - it actually sucks those pesky blackheads and impurities all out (and reduces redness and pigmentation). Yes I know some of you are going, ‘Gross! ? Feeling more and more confident in my skin thanks to Iconic Medispa
I've always had relatively clear skin but I always get those annoying reoccurring pimple/s. ? I don't use any foundation at all (I don't even own any) as I feel like it prevents my skin from breathing and clogs up my pores.
