What does it do?
Lip fillers are dermal fillers used to provide a lip enhancement. This enhancement is completely tailored to you. We can achieve anything such as improving the shape of your lips, increase the volume and give the lips hydration. The products are Hyaluronic acid based – a substance found naturally in the body and serves as your body’s natural moisturiser. This also helps to improve HYDRATION in the lips.
Who does the treatment?
At Iconic Medispa, lip fillers are only performed by our highly trained cosmetic dentists. Our clinicians have an intimate understanding of facial aesthetics and the dynamics of a smile to ensure that your lips are balanced and in harmony with the rest of your face.
How is it done?
A thorough clinical assessment is made prior to treatment. From this we can determine the best clinical approach to take, and what type of filler product to use. Our cosmetic injectors are skilled at numerous lip injection techniques (canula or needle techniques), and will choose the best approach based on lips and the desired results. Your treatment is always performed under dental block anaesthesia. The treatment may take from 30 mins to 1 hour.
Does it hurt?
The treatment is done under a combination of topical and local anaesthetics. The actual lip enhancement does not hurt at all. We believe that you should be relaxed and completely comfortable during the procedure so that we can achieve the best results for you. Our patients often comment that our injection techniques are by far the most comfortable they have experienced.
What products do you use?
There are a variety of dermal filler products available – all with different degrees of cross linking, densities and concentrations. Prior to treatment we will assess you face and determine the most appropriate product/s to achieve the desired results. Often we may use a combination of products tailored to you. Not all dermal fillers are the same. We only used the highest quality SWISS-made, TGA approved dermal fillers. All dermal fillers used in our clinic are non-animal sourced, Hyaluronic acid based.
How long does swelling last after lip fillers?
Downtime is minimal. Usually, people can resume most normal activities later in the day. There may be swelling or bruising which may be hidden by make-up in most cases. Where possible, we utilise gentle techniques which means minimal trauma, and minimal swelling.
What are the results like?
Lip enhancements can be as dramatic or subtle as you like. For some, simply rejuvenating the lips can give improvements to hydration and texture without noticeable changes to appearance. For others, the treatment may involve redefining the shape of the lips and restoring volume. We thoroughly assess your facial proportions and expression dynamics so that the results are always in harmony with your face.

How much do lip fillers cost?
The initial consultation is $72 and you are under no obligation to have any treatment. If you wish to proceed with treatment on the day, the consult fee is deducted from the treatment. Some people may need multiple treatments and this depends on the current status of your lips, and the results you desire to achieve. Because this is highly variable, we cannot give you an exact cost without a clinical exam first. The price for lip fillers start from $720 for 1mL.
How long do lip fillers last?
Hyaluronic based lip fillers will age naturally with your body and break down over time. This is usually 9 – 12 months. Most people have further treatment at this time to maintain results. You are not obligated to continue with treatment maintenance.
